3 Fun Things to Do in St. Ignace, Michigan with the Family

Looking for family fun in Michigan? Let's talk about 3 things to do in St. Ignace, Michigan with the family.

We are starting off with a classic attraction in St. Ignace and that is the Mystery Spot. This is a fun spot for all ages, but a must for families! There are 4 main parts to highlight at the Mystery Spot and the first part is the guided tour.

We had been to the Mystery Spot before, but this was the first time bringing the rest of the family. Seeing their reactions made the experience feel completely new. The guided tour was filled with strange, fun, and mind-bending illusions that kept everyone curious and entertained. Walking through the tilted house felt disorienting in the best way, and we couldn’t help but laugh as we tried to stay upright. The guide made the experience even more engaging with playful demonstrations and a few surprising facts along the way. It was a unique and lighthearted stop that offered something interesting for both kids and adults.

The zip lines at the Mystery Spot were a first for the rest of the group and added a fun bit of adventure to the day. After getting into our harnesses and helmets, we made our way up to the starting platform. There was a mix of excitement and nervous energy, but once we launched off the first platform, it turned into pure fun. Between the two lines, we followed a short trail that opened up to a beautiful view of the Mackinac Bridge in the distance. It was a perfect spot to pause and take in the scenery. The second zip line felt even better, with everyone more relaxed and ready to enjoy the ride. It was a great way to try something new while also enjoying the natural surroundings.

Next up was a round of mini golf, which offered a more relaxed pace but just as much fun. The course had a casual feel that matched the playful atmosphere of the Mystery Spot. We made our way through the holes, each one offering its own little challenge. There were even a couple of hole-in-ones, which was a bonus. It was a fun way to wind down after the zip lines and a great option for all ages.

Last was the maze, and it turned out to be a lot of fun for the final activity of the day. From the outside, only the entrance was visible, so we didn’t really know what to expect. Once inside, the maze revealed dead ends and unexpected turns that had us laughing and racing each other to see who could get through it fastest.

After finishing up at the Mystery Spot, the next stop was a famous Upper Peninsula roadside attraction, Castle Rock. Known for its towering limestone formation and stunning views, Castle Rock is a must-see for anyone exploring the area. It offered a completely different kind of adventure and a chance to take in some incredible scenery. Also, it is only $1!

The last stop was downtown St. Ignace along the waterfront, where we grabbed pizza from BC Pizza. Enjoying the pizza with a view of the water was perfect. After eating we walked along the boardwalk to take in the views. A fun fact, the boardwalk is part of the North Country Trail.
