An Underwater Ghost Ship and a Lost Mansion in South Haven, Michigan

We had heard the stories of The City of Green Bay shipwreck. A shipwreck has moved to different locations under the waters of Lake Michigan near South Haven, Michigan. After some research, we decided to go try to find the shipwreck. We planned for a perfectly calm day and it worked out perfectly. We found the shipwreck fairly quickly.

Finding the shipwreck in its current location was part of the fun, especially since a comment on our video told us where he thought it was and it had been there for 40 years. It turns out the location was quite a bit further south than where the shipwreck had once been known to be. 

We always have fun looking for shipwrecks. There are apps and websites out there that have shipwrecks marked to make them easier to find. For some reason, The City of Green Bay is not on those apps. This made the adventure to find the shipwreck a bit more fun. 

Is it an underwater ghost ship? How often has it moved? We know one thing and that is that The City of Green Bay shipwreck is not in the same spot that it always has been and it makes it a bit more fun!

After finding the shipwreck we decided to go search for another local South Haven urban legend and that is the Lost Mansion. This story is that there was a concrete mansion that was from Chicago and was about to be torn down and instead was purchased and taken apart to be brought to South Haven to be reassembled. The legend says that on the way the ship that was carrying the pieces sank and the pieces ended up scattered along the lakeshore and the dunes in South Haven.

We were able to find the pieces. They had intricate designs and were numbered as if they were to be put together a certain way. Some people believe the legend while some people say the pieces are from an abandoned project that was to be built where the pieces still sit today. No matter what the actual answer is, finding the pieces scattered through the woods and dunes was a fun experience. We like to believe the local legend that is is the lost mansion that cam from Chicago!
