Arcadia Dunes and Bear Lake

Next up on Road Trips from MI Backyard, we are talking about Arcadia Dunes and Bear Lake in Manistee County This is a special area to us as we spend summer days exploring all that it has to offer!

One area in particular that we enjoy visiting is Old Baldy Trail. This involves a fairly easy hike out to the dunes, which offer amazing views from over 360 feet up! You can choose between a few different routes including one that ends at a viewing platform and one that leads you out onto the dunes.

We also enjoy spending a day on Bear Lake! The lake is great for paddling, pontoon rides, spotting Bald Eagles and relaxing! The lake is shallow around the edges, which makes it great for playing in the water. Bear Lake is also a great place to learn to paddleboard! Its warm and has shallow parts that make it easier.
