Our 10 Favorite Photos from Winter in St. Ignace

We recently spent a couple of amazing winter days exploring the St. Ignace area. The city that welcomes visitors to the Upper Peninsula has a lot of fun areas to explore and some iconic photo opportunities with the Mackinac Bridge.

We filled our visit with hiking, snowshoeing, fat biking, pasties and visiting the downtown area. Let's start with a couple of photos from fat biking along the shores of Lake Michigan!

Next up, we went to the Cut River Bridge. If you are not familiar with this, there is a very cool hiking trail that goes under the bridge and also leads to the beach. We believe it is one of the best road side parks around and worth checking out! We also love to get photos from this spot! Don't forget to stop by and see if T. Troll is home. (Bonus Photo!)

In St. Ignace, there are many great hiking and snowshoeing spots. With the beginning of the Hiawatha National Forest, the North Country Trail and more, we were able to get out to multiple areas.

One of these areas leads to some of the best views of the iconic Mackinac Bridge. There is an overlook at Straits State Park that is a must visit! You can also take some of the other trails in the park to get down to the beach for a different angle.

We also came across an amazing photo opportunity down on the ice of a "pond" hockey rink with bridge as the backdrop. We got so many amazing photos here but here are two of our favorites!
